Summer at Booty Boardwalk

Now, here's a piece that harkens back to my digital art beginnings!

This Mario Party x Pokémon crossover piece is actually a gift art for my friend, LucaTheJackal. I offered to make him something for his birthday a couple of days ago. He wanted to see something with Lucario, Yoshi, and Goomba's Booty Boardwalk in the art. I promised to deliver, and deliver I have. 🚚

There was admittedly struggle with this piece; I wanted to show something in the style of all the landscape paintings I've been making in recent weeks. Unfortunately, it wasn't working out, and in sheer frustration, I scrapped a good chunk of my work to redo the piece. I returned to my old cel shading style of coloring, and the result was even better--and more satisfying--than I expected. I wanted something colorful that popped out, and here it is.

As I've said before on my stream, sometimes the best way to move forward is to take a step back. 😌

Serine

The small farming village of Serine in the world of Radisrol is a stone's throw away from Rodfalk's capital city of Aquila, seat of the Aquilean Kingdom that rules over the continent. This village thrives on selling meat and crops like wheat, corn, and barley to various towns and cities throughout Rodfalk. Farmers are directly funded by the Kingdom and the townspeople also regularly enjoy protection from the Aquilean Royal Guard.

The landscapes keep coming, friends! This time I wanted to paint a gloomy sky in the background while it gets sunnier near the foreground. I'm also admittedly giddy about those reflections of the forests and the castle on the river. 😝

Yberiko

Here's the landscape I was working on during the last two streams! And yes, it's another location from The Aether and Radisrol.

This place is called Yberiko, in southeastern Altana in the world of Radisrol. This region is renowned for its terroir and cool, temperate climate, making it an ideal place to grow vineyards and raise animals. But as the region is enclosed by the Cragtooth Mountain Range, it's very difficult for locals and outsiders alike to travel to and from this area.

Overlooking the village and its environs is the snow-capped Mt. Nieves, where one of the Exalted, Aelv, was said to have rested after shaping these lands. Locals often visit the caverns of the mountain to cure their famous Jamon Yberiko, made from the Yber Black Pig and considered a local delicacy.

I had initially no clue what this was going to be. I only really decided this would be some concept art for Yberiko while painting the values in grayscale. After that, I decided that I wanted to create a landscape that had more depth compared to the last couple of landscapes that I was working on. I also wanted to focus more on plants in this piece... And I had to collect a lot of vineyard photos on Pinterest for reference. 🍇
