Once an abandoned child lost in the woodlands of Altana, she was found by her Ehn-Gu stepfather, Takakura, and raised as though she were his own child. Together they lived alone in the forest village of Igusa, in the Ehn-Gu isle of Hikou-Tou in the Aevis Archipelago. Takakura taught her the ways of his people, and how to fight as a kunoichi; under his tutelage, she grew adept in the art of stealth and deception and became an elegant young woman.
Growing up, she was only ever exposed to Ehn-Gu children and found herself an outcast from her peers thanks to her physical appearance. For many years she found solace only in her stepfather's company, until at seventeen, when she met Peter, a low-ranking member of the Valkyrian Church's Templars, who was spreading the word of his organization in Hikou-Tou at the time. The two fell in love, Vir especially so.
Their blooming romance came to a tragic end when Vir inadvertently unleashed her latent Wyrmidon powers following an event where she had to save her lover from a powerful monster. Wyrmidons, a race of half-human and half-dragons, were considered mortal nemeses of the Ehn-Gu after it was revealed that a Wyrmidon was responsible for the assassination of their Ehn-Gu leader nearly two decades prior, and the Ehn-Gu carried out a mass genocide of the species in retaliation. Vir was arrested and put on trial alongside her stepfather, and Peter made no attempt to defend either of them in a jury that was highly biased against Vir's people. Vir was sentenced to eternal imprisonment in the Asunaro Dungeon, and Takakura was forever exiled from the Ehn-Gu; Peter, on the other hand, was hailed as a hero among the Ehn-Gu for weeding out the "corruption" amongst their people, and rose swiftly among the ranks of the Church as a result.
Three years later, Takakura infiltrates the Asunaro Dungeon to save his stepdaughter. He frees her, but he quickly learns that time has not been kind to his once sweet stepdaughter, who had now become a shadow of her former self. Nonetheless, the two plot to take down the Valkyrian Church and the Ehn-Gu by enlisting the help of any remaining Wyrmidons in the Altanan Continent. And more importantly, Vir seeks to claim the life of the man who betrayed her and allowed her life to become forfeit three years prior, and she will do whatever she needs to do to vindicate herself and slay him with her own hands...
