South Korea 2016 - Day 2

Three hours of sleep last night. Also heard a drunk guy singing opera down the street before I went to bed, and it took a lot of my willpower to keep myself from laughing my ass off while my roommate was sleeping.

As per usual I took care of my morning rituals. Breakfast was… Satisfactory.

I was hungry as fuck, yo.

South Korea 2016 - Day 1

Only got 5 hours of sleep last night. CC fam kept giving me feels and big hugs while I was dealing with some personal shit, and then ninjas came out with their onions again, so I had to fight them off. Went gliding and almost lost my things when I lagged and died. Almost.

Airport isn't far from home; it's a 10 minute ride. But since it's an international flight, we have to be there 3 hours early. If you're abroad at least twice a year, you're aware of this; the check-in can be excruciatingly long, especially if your flight leans on in the afternoon/evening. And at the world-renowned worst airport ever no less (hey, it's been renovated at least).

(South) Korea-Bound

Hey, guys.

As some of you may know, I'll be heading to South Korea for a few days. Company-paid trip and all, and I'll be going with my family as well. I will be documenting my trip on this blog under the tag Away From the Keyboard (AFK).

You can expect a medley of pictures about it coming in the next few days. As for the remaining #inktober posts, they'll all be posted during my trip as well. Productive free times are productive!

And to my CedarCraft peeps, I'll see you guys next week! I'll try to be on still though, have a chat here and there during my free time at the hotel. Don't miss me too much, eh guys?

Besides, it's not like I won't be flying back… (/knocks on wood)

Fizzo

Finally, an outrageously simple yet completely different subject to doodle for once!

Here's a logo for a made-up brand of carbonated drinks, which I featured in Inktober #06 on one of the billboards in the background.

Strings

"My, what a lovely tune. Would you like to play a duet with me?"

Melody from Crypt of the NecroDancer, and Bo Wyatt from LISA: The Painful RPG. I had played both games around July of 2015.

Apparently, Melody is completely unaware that Bo hadn't seen a woman in so long due to the nature of things back in Olathe. Nonetheless, he doesn't seem to mind playing a string duet with the reincarnated bard.

Art Block

I have to admit… It's not like I don't have any ideas. It's just that I have such a hard time bringing them all to life on paper sometimes, especially when I want to play on Minecraft instead.

Welp. I now have 4 days worth of inks to catch up on… Whoopee-freakin'-doo.

Edit: Changed the image. Should be clearer now.

Baby Firefox

Requested by a friend, who wanted it wearing a Super Mystery Dungeon scarf. And I thought, hey, why not.

Siren Seal

I'll be honest. Seeing Popplio's final evolution was initially disappointing for me. But someway, somehow, I grew a heart for Siren Seal. It's almost a bit like how I didn't love Emboar at first but later grew a heart for it. Is it the elegance? The beauty? The way it strikingly resembles my OC Tori with her hair up and down? Who knows.

Well! That ends the Pokémon Sun and Moon Starters series. Drawing all three of them was fun to do. I can't wait for the games to come out next month!

Zippocat

Litten's final evolution looks like a rehash of Crunch Bandicoot.

I hate the fact that it's likely to be another Fire/Fighting type, but at the same time I have to admit it's cool as hell.

Grass Owl

When Pokémon Sun and Moon come out, I'm definitely getting Rowlet as a starter.

Edit: Changed the photo. Should look better now.

Stubby Legs

…Or Ness, as I'd like to call him.

Haven't played EarthBound yet? I'm sorry but what have you been doing with your life? There should be SNES roms of it around, and emulators to play it on. I recommend it if you like 2D pixel RPGs.

Izakaya

Zephyr: "BAHAHAHAHAH, OH WOW LOL"
Kite: "Will you please shut the fuck up already!? I wanna eat without hearing you laugh like a maniac for once!"
Zephyr: "Lighten up, will ya?" (pulls over a bottle of sake) "Here, you should try this sake too; maybe it'll help you stop being such a stuck-up ass!"
Kite: "Get that damn thing away from me! I'm not a drunkard like you!"

Vir: (nudges Tori on the shoulder) "Hey Toooooria, how's 'bout you n' me skiddadle on outta here and find ourselves a nice quiet place for a good time, eh?"
Tori: (stops drinking and stares) What the hell, Vir--
Vir: C'mon, c'moooooon… That face of yours says 'nough. You know I don't bite, Tori. Not that hard anyway… (winks) I'll be nice n' gentle with you t'night. I prooomise. Now whaddya say, hmmm?
Tori: (facepalms) Oh dear god.

Izakayas are the Japanese version of bars in the West. They are not limited to alcohols alone, serving light meals like sushi and gyoza for people to munch on between their round of drinks. Others even feature heavier meals on their menus, such as katsudon and omurice for those who want to stuff themselves before having a drink.

I missed Japanese food, and drawing my OCs. Makes me glad to see these four get together in one picture like this for once.

The Egging Master

With the power of (Egg) Aura, nothing can stop him from egging every last build in Cedar Craft.

Drawn for my friend LucarioOfAura, who plays in the same Minecraft server as I do. Visit his Twitter here.

This picture was inspired by this thread at the CC website.

Also, very sorry for the lateness of posts! I will be posting the other challenges very soon (as soon as I get off of Minecraft to actually do them #sadface).

Top Dog

Papyrus: * HMMM… THERE'S SOMETHING ANNOYING ABOUT THIS ROOM. BUT I CAN'T QUITE PLACE MY FINGER ON IT…

How could I forget the most basic Tobydog Annoying Dog?

After all these detailed inks I've decided to go for a simple one this time. I prefer the Annoying Dog this way.

This concludes my inked Undertale dogs mini-series. It was a lot of fun! My personal favorites in the last few days were Doggo and Greater Dog, to be honest. I hope to draw more Undertale stuff in the future!

Inescapable

* You try looking away, but it seems to appear everywhere you look.

The stuff of cynophobic nightmares.

Nuzzle Couple

* No. 2 Nuzzle Champs '98! (Of course we were second.)

*The Dogs are practicing for the next couple's contest.

The last of the dogs… In the Royal Guard at least. Got it done right on time, after procrastinating by watching marathons of Undertale shorts on Youtube.

I also learned it's been a year since the game came out too. A year and almost a month, actually. What a coincidence! I'm a month off but I find it timely that doing all these doodles of the Undertale dogs after finding out about that.

Since I'm already this far in, may as well draw all of them, no?

Canis Major

* Greater Dog wants some TLC.

So for tomorrow, the Dogi. Stay tuned!

Doggo

* Doggo is too suspicious of your movements.

My favorite dog in Undertale, hands down.

At this rate I might end up drawing the rest of them!

* Critical pet!

* You pet the Dog. Its excitement knows no bounds.

Simple doodle (since I always get artist's block until this time of day…), but I'm gonna look back on this in my notebook and be content I did it.

A Bad Time

* You don't like it, but you feel like you're about to have one.

…As if there aren't enough pictures of Sans and his Gasterblasters, have another one to add to the ever-growing collection of 'em.

And yes, you can officially count me in with all the rest of the Undertale trash.

Tyfloof

The other day, you guys had a munchpunchin' flamin' bacon. Now have a cookie munchin' typhlosion tyfloof.

Downtown Crossover

The Persona Trio fighting out the gargantuan Godzilla-esque threat in the streets of downtown Crossover… Well, except Kite anyway, who's clearly turned tail like a bat outta hell. I have a minor scanning fail at that left corner… I'll deal with it later.

This took me a while to finish because of all the details I added. I wanted to scrap this idea because I wasn't gonna make the deadline yesterday, but at the same time I wanted to see it on paper. Seeing how it looks now, I'm glad I bothered to make the effort even though it was late.

Have been getting a lot of ideas for dynamic artwork involving perspective study, backgrounds, and action scenes. I'll try to be more punctual when it comes to getting those kinds of artworks done.

Hungry Buuta

Have this munchpunchin' flamin' bacon. Ahh, Buuta, I've missed you.

Personally, my favorite Gen. V fully-evolved starter is Serperior. But somehow after drawing Tori in her Black 2/White 2 outfit a lot, and after finishing White 2, Emboar became something I slowly grew to love. Or maybe I unwittingly just have a soft spot in my heart for porkers.

Or Serperior is just more taxing to draw as compared to this.

Ramen Cart

Finished at the last minute. Struggled to come up with an idea for today's #inktober challenge, so I settled eventually for the generic ramen cart.

I also learned how to get a more wood-like texture through inking. #woot

Mise en place

Mise en place is a French term that means to put into place. In the kitchen this term often refers to the set up of your station, or your components for the dish you're about to cook.

The picture shows how my station normally looks like (but honestly a long time ago my station would be messy and disorganized) when I work. Ingredients to process are usually on the left side, my chopping board and knives in front of me, and all finished components to my right. I also have containers for trash and trimmings. This is what I've been accustomed to since my internship months ago.

I really miss working in the kitchen. Currently doing an office job but I feel terribly unfulfilled, and not many opportunities are around. Nonetheless I still have to keep up my job hunt. I won't find it if I don't go looking for it, you know?

Inktober 2016

Well, whaddya know about that! It's October again! And you know what October usually means:

It's #inktober again! For this month you can expect ink artwork from me every day for the whole month of October, all made in this handy-dandy red notebook (they ran out of black at the bookstore #sad). You can find links to every #inktober artwork I'll be posting by clicking on the label Inktober 2016.

To start off, here's a shameless, full-body portrait of my avatar, which I've always wanted to make:

It's been a while since I've inked something. Let's see if I still got it, eh?
