Todai-ji Temple

Hey, guys.

Long time no post, apparently. Really sorry for the lack of updates. Life's been terrible with me while kind at some times. Recently I've been lucky enough to enjoy a 5-day trip in Japan throughout the past week. We were staying in the heart of Dotonburi in Osaka but our travels brought us to the nearby Nara Prefecture and the city of Kyoto. It's been a wonderful journey and I had the courtesy to take as many photos as I could… To doodle my OCs in.

Soon I'll finally get some free time to continue this old project, but for now I really enjoyed doodling this one.

Now for some picture-related text and dialogue:

—Todai-ji Temple, Nara Prefecture—

Tori: (reading her brochure) It says here that people light up sticks of incense in front of the temple and pray to Buddha so that their wishes come true.
Vir: Is that right?
Tori: So it says, anyway.
Vir: In that case, I think I ought to pray and make a wish, myself!
Tori: What would you even wish for?
Vir: Oh, nothing much. I'm rather a humble and simple being, and I'd wish for nothing more than to torture my ex-lover with my own hands and watch him beg and scream for mercy—
Tori: (sweatdrops) I'm pretty sure Buddha is a pacifist, Vir… Not a sadist.

Zephyr: Wow, look at that! I'm surprised it's hundreds of years old and still hasn't crumbled.
Kite: That's because they renovated the temple recently. Look, there's still some construction going on.
Zephyr: Oh, makes sense… Hey, let's get our picture taken in front of the temple!
Kite: What? No, we can't!
Zephyr: Huh? Why not?
Kite: The sign at the entrance said we can't have any photos taken here. Plus, cameras aren't even allowed!
Zephyr: First of all, the sign specifically said no group photos on the stairs; and the next sign said that cameras with tripods aren't allowed. Now come on, they're about to take our photo!
Kite: Hey! Let go of me!
