Some of you are aware as to why. As for those who aren't, well… Let's just say because it involved a lot of alcohol last night. Thankfully, either by my own will or my body's natural healing process, my body recovered enough energy to make the flight earlier this afternoon. Of course I was groggy as hell, but I wasn't about to miss this long-awaited trip to the land of my dreams because of a hangover.
Our flight was at 10:00 a.m. (GMT +8), but we left the house around 7:00 a.m. At the airport, there was miraculously no line in sight at the Japan Airlines check-in counter, nor was there at immigration. We got our luggages checked smoothly and passed immigration without a hitch; the whole thing took us 30-45 minutes. We had 2 hours to spare, so we spent the time having breakfast.
By boarding time our tickets were processed and we were in our seats in no time flat. Unlike Philippine Airlines, JAL planes have two seats by the window instead of three, and from my aisle seat I managed to take a snapshot of the overcongested Metro Manila from my seat:
brb Manila lel
The entire flight took us 3 hours (MNL to NRT). It left me feeling sore and lethargic, but I figured it was also because I was still recovering from my hangover. Upon arrival we ran into a long line at immigration, and then we were picked up by our transfer to our hotel.
Currently we are staying in the Ueno area of Tokyo, which has become a familiar place for us in the last 2-3 years (thanks, Mistui Garden). After some confusion we learned that instead of staying at this APA Hotel overlooking the lake and Ueno Park, we were actually booked to this APA Hotel by the expressway instead. Whoopee-freakin'-do.
But hey. I can't really complain about it. As small as the room is, I can't say I'm not satisfied with it so far:

This widdle crane greets you when you come in for the first time. Creepy.
Not much else I've got for all of you today. I spent the whole evening sleeping and whatnot since I was so tired from my flight. But tomorrow we'll be going on a tour, and I'll be spending the day taking as many snapshots of Japan as possible.
Again, you can tune in live on my adventure here on IG (assuming you're awake from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. GMT +9) for until the 27th!
