Yes, I'd like to take this opportunity for some shameless self-advertising.
There's nothing quite like hot chocolate, or the staple "drink by the fire on a cold winter's day". 🍫☕ It's easily my go-to on cool days, or whenever I have whipped cream and chocolate chips in the house. This is also my alternative to coffee, since I can't drink it anymore because of how anxious it leaves me afterwards.
My recipe is a little more decadent because of the extra cream and the method I use, but if you love chocolate then this shouldn't be a problem. 😛 I like to add a little peppermint syrup in my cocoa sometimes too, just for that refreshing minty flavor, but this recipe works just fine without it. 🍃
This recipe is for one cup of hot cocoa.
---
Ingredients:
- 30 g chocolate chips
- 30 ml cream
- 60 ml milk
- 1 can of whipped cream
- cocoa powder
- 15 ml peppermint syrup (optional)
- Put your chocolate chips and cream inside the cup. Place it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Take it out and mix the contents with a teaspoon until the chocolate melts. Put it back in the microwave if necessary and mix again afterwards.
- Once the chocolate has melted into the cream, add milk. Heat the drink for 45 seconds or 1 minute in the microwave. Add the syrup if you're using it. Mix the contents again.
- Apply whipped cream on the top of the mug. Dust lightly with cocoa powder. Serve before the whipped cream melts.
