Long Ago in Gatorville (Part 4)

Shit has taken a fucking turn.

Longest strip so far! Been sick for a bit but I managed to get this strip going!

I used these brushes for the final part of the strip.

You should've stayed asleep lady, oh man oh god oh man oh god--

Long Ago in Gatorville (Part 3)

Next part finally up! And it nearly took me a whole month... 😫

I enjoyed this part, especially the one where I drew Mama Gator's flower garden, simply because of how colorful it is. Also, the details were just so fun to paint. Nice to see more variety in my swamp backgrounds! ✨

My parents recently got into gardening as a hobby and bought all these plants for the house. I took some photos of them as references for a few plants in this strip.

What really held me back the longest was ironing out the plot for this one... Plus a bunch of other things related to the story that I really needed to put a lot of thought into. But now that that's out of the way, I can finally post comics more frequently! 😁

[5/24/2021] Edit: Made some adjustments to the Mama Gator's snoot.

Viresco Lancaster (2021)

And now for something totally different: an ink of one of my favorite OCs of all time.

My goodness, I've been itching to draw this for a week. This was originally drawn as a doodle in one of my notebooks, and I used that as a reference for the final product.

This is a rework of her 2015 design. I wanted to make her outfit better influenced by ninjas in general, while still retaining the coat. This was also meant to be all purely drawn in ink, but decided to keep using a pencil for her waist sash and the floral pattern on her pants.

It's been forever since I've made an ink! And in my ink book too. I admit though that I've been avoiding doing anything that isn't digital. They usually end up uncolored, and I'm really trying to post more colorful work on my website. For the longest time, my website has featured a lot of work in monochrome and I just want to change that.

But this was a whole lot of fun. I remembered how pleasing it is to make inks when you have a steady hand and a piece of paper under your hand to keep the ink from smudging by accident. πŸ˜† Also, the satisfying feeling of just filling up a ton of space in black and making a clear seam to separate one black area from another is like damn, that feels good when you nail it just right. πŸ‘Œ

This will be the only ink I'll be posting for a while, but man, it was worth it. I feel like I really did her some justice here. Next time I'll have her drawn in color!
